In 1970 the intertational exposition was held in Banpaku kouen(park) in Osaka. Osaka has still preserved this place and in every season, we can enjoy variety of flowers here. It's a good place to take a walk. This time I enjoyed Japanese apricot flowers(Ume no Hana 梅の花) . This strange big monument(65m) was built in 1970 by Okamoto Taro who was one of the most unique and famous artists in the world. This monument which is called "Taiyo no Tou(太陽の塔)"- Tower of Sun- is still a symbol of Osaka.

At the museum in Sakai that I introduced before, we can enjoy the simple version of Tea ceremony. I didn't have to sit on tatami in a formal way. Matcha and a Japanese-style confection were very delicious. I was surprised to know that the flowers hung on the wall should be in the bud. This bud shows the start of life and energy of new life.
I found a very cute and accurate miniature. It shows Sakai city in Osaka of an early age of Showa period (at the beginning of 20C). When I see these pictures I feel as though I were a time-traveler.
At this museum, we can learn many things like the history of Sakai city, tea ceremony, "Sennorikyu" who was born in Sakai and established the style of the tea ceremony(茶の湯) and the lives of "Yosano Akiko" who was a very famous female poet born in Sakai.
I found the interesting mix. That is Starbucks drive-through and Japanese garden "Karesansui". Karesansui is a dry landscape garden composed of rocks and sand. The rocks represent mountains or islands and the sand represents water. Sakura Starbucks cup.
I went to a newly establised shopping mall in Osaka. I was surprised with its uniqueness. It has not only a shopping mall but also an aquarium and a facility where we can experience many things in English like cooking, newscasing, farming etc. (hp:http://www.expocity-mf.com/en/ ) This is the aquarium. Monkeys and birds were walking freely. They were very cute!
I baked cheesecake using Tofu today. It's very easy to make and healthy. Here's the recipe. I just mixed the ingredients in this order and poured it into a cake mold. This time I spread pie sheet in the bottom of the mold. I baked it in preheated 180c for 40 to 45 minutes.
150g Tofu 200g Cream cheese 60g Sugar 2 Eggs 30g Flour 1/2 Tbsp Milk 1 Tbsp Lemon juice Today is "Setsubun" which means the last day of winter in the traditional lunar calendar. Many shrines and temples held special events throughout Japan. I visited "Yasaka shrine" in Kyoto. I saw some Geiko and Maiko(Geisha) dancing traditional Japanese dance. They were very beautiful but I got tired because of too many audience.@_@;
"Mame Daifuku" is a black bean rice cake with red bean jam. I bought "Mame Daifuku" at Takashimaya department store in Kyoto. Many shops sell this sweet, but I think Mame Daifuku sold at "Futaba(ふたば)" is most delicious.
